Meow
York is a lot like The City: the only difference is that it’s
pretty, safe, and everyone is nice to each other! From colourful
buildings, to fun-packed museums, to pristine greens –
it is the Meow York our heroes live in.
Founded by Cat Leopold and Mouse Mary a long time ago, after
the Flood – a cat-astrophe that no-one seems to know
how it happened. Working together, Mary climbed on Leopold’s
hand, and he held her high – until they saw how they
can move to safety. They lead other cats and mice, and founded
Meow York as it is now. The rumor has it that the flood had
something to do with Izzy’s father Antonio. He was a
scientist, who dedicated his life to the mysterious Meowyan
civilization, and even more mysterious Great Plug. Be that
as it may, ever since that time, the Statue of Liberty and
Togetherness rises above Meow York, symbolizing – well,
how life is more important than differences between traditional
roles cats and mice and birds are supposed to play.
It is that glorious tradition the cats and mice and birds
live together in. Happily ever after… if only it weren’t
for the rats, who hate the idea of living together with others.
They rule the sewers, dumps and other “pretty”
places with dreams of getting control over the entire city
some day – and turning it into the biggest garbage dump
anyone has ever seen.
